About the U.S. Moving Protection Organization
The U.S. Moving Protection Organization (USMPO) was originally created as a resource to protect consumers against moving scams, rogue movers, and deceptive business practices.
The USMPO works to promoting transparency and accountability in the moving industry, while providing resources to protect consumers engaged in the interstate shipping of household goods.Their efforts are carried out by creating a network of verified carriers, holding those movers accountable to pricing & performance, and collecting data to optimize the safety and operational efficiency of long distance moving. The USMPO also makes efforts to investigate and audit carriers for reliability, safety, and higher standards of customer service. These tasks improve pricing accuracy, maximize the efficiency of the household goods transportation network, and minimize the risk of moving fraud.
The USMPO is dedicated to improving the safety and logistical efficiency of the moving industry. By providing direct access to a verified carrier database, the USMPO provides the tools and resources for shippers to have a more safe, reliable, and affordable relocation.
A Free Marketplace for Consumers
The U.S. Moving Protection Organization provides a free online marketplace for consumers looking to connect with verified moving companies, emphasizing on consumer protection.
By increasing transparency and holding movers accountable, the U.S. Moving Protection Organization aims to create a safer moving experience for all.
Our relocation support agents provide consumers with guidance, tools, and educational resources to navigate the moving process. However, USMPO does not arrange, negotiate, or book moving services, nor do we act as a broker or carrier. We do not collect or distribute payments on behalf of movers. All transactions, agreements, and payments are made directly between the consumer and their chosen carrier.
USMPO is NOT a broker, carrier, or moving company. We do not arrange, coordinate, or negotiate transportation services for household goods. Instead, we provide a platform where consumers can research and connect with verified moving carriers.
- No Direct Involvement in Transactions: USMPO does not accept payments on behalf of movers, collect deposits for moving services, or control the transfer of funds between consumers and carriers.
- Information & Resources Only: All information provided by USMPO is for educational and informational purposes. Any agreements, bookings, or financial transactions are solely between the consumer and the selected carrier.
- Carrier Verification: While USMPO conducts due diligence on carriers in our network, we do not guarantee performance, pricing, or service quality. Consumers should perform their own research before selecting a moving provider.

Our Mission

The primary mission of the United States Moving Protection Organization (USMPO) is to eliminate fraudulent moving companies and protect consumers engaged in the interstate shipping of household goods.
The secondary mission of the USMPO is to improve commercial motor vehicle safety through data analytics. Through these combined efforts, the USMPO is revolutionizing a technologically antiquated, under-regulated, interstate moving industry.
Our Vision
Our vision at the United States Moving Protection Organization (USMPO) is to build a resilient and sustainable household goods (HHG) transportation system that not only serves the needs of consumers but also safeguards the communities it touches. We envision a future where every move, whether it’s across state lines or within the neighborhood, is a seamless and secure experience for all involved.
Just as our mission drives us to optimize routes, eliminate fraudulent practices, and protect consumers, our vision inspires us to create a transportation ecosystem that contributes positively to the well-being of individuals and communities alike. We believe that the process of moving should not only be efficient and secure but also environmentally responsible and community-friendly.
In alignment with our mission, our vision reflects our commitment to revolutionize the moving industry. By fostering sustainability, transparency, and community engagement, we aim to leave a lasting impact that benefits both our customers and the places they call home.
Our Strategy
- Standardize: The USMPO has developed a set of tools and protocols to optimize the efficiency of HHG transportation. By centralizing our network’s dispatching, less shipments are left in warehouses, and more shipments are on the road.
- Verify: The USMPO verifies and regularly audits carriers to ensure the accordance of best practices and ethical customer service procedures. The FMCSA and DOT licenses hundreds of carriers each year. We condense their list by eliminating bad performers and certifying top service providers in our network
- Enforce: Verification alone is not enough without continued regulation. With over 7,000 licensed movers in the FMCSA database, its hard to regulate each company for its ethics. In response to the FMCSA’s request, we are narrowing their list to highlight the companies that are proven to provide ethical business practices and have no records of unjustified price increases or fraudulent complaints.
