3. Payment

The United States Moving Protection Organization (USMPO) has set forth a universal moving process in efforts to protect shippers, optimize logistical efficiency, and improve the quality of the household goods moving industry. The USMPO does not provide, arrange, or broker moving services. The USMPO is a trade organization that certifies carriers in exchange for membership fees. As a shipper, by depositing funds into the escrow provider set forth by the USMPO, you understand agree to the following terms and conditions. As part of the shipper pre-qualification process, before signing any agreement for moving services with a carrier, the shipper’s funds are collected, held, and verified by the USMPO through a third-party escrow provider. This is not a payment made to the USMPO. It is important to note that USMPO is not a moving broker, nor is paid for the arrangement of moving services. The USMPO exclusively generates revenue through carrier membership fees. If a service agreement is made between the carrier and the shipper for moving services, funds are released to the USMPO to distribute to the carrier based on the completion of services, contingent on the shipper's approval.

Payment milestones are set forth between the USMPO and the carrier to protect the shipper of household goods and hold carriers accountable for following the best practices outlined by the USMPO carrier certification. The USMPO provides a secure and reliable way to ensure that both the shipper and the carrier are protected throughout the moving process.

4. Disbursement of Funds

Once the shipper posts and registers their shipment with the USMPO, carriers with availability on matching or compatible routes are presented to the shipper. The shipper can then reserve the carrier’s availability by depositing the standard pricing (base rate x desired cubic feet) into the USMPO’s escrow account.

The escrow service verifies the funds of the shipper and releases them to the USMPO after an agreement is confirmed between the shipper and carrier, which are then released by the USMPO to the carrier at milestones throughout the move. After the carrier confirms the availability of funds in the escrow account, they proceed to contact the shipper, confirm inventory, and send a service agreement for signature.

Once the agreement between the shipper and carrier is confirmed and solidified with a service agreement, the shipper releases funds from the escrow account to USMPO.

The USMPO then distributes the payment to the carrier based on the shipper's approval and quality control surveys at both pickup and delivery. If the customer does not approve the service before it has been rendered, they can request for the funds to be reversed and refunded.

5. Disclaimer

It is important to note that the USMPO is not a broker nor provides moving services in any capacity. The shipper pays the carrier for moving services. The carrier receives payment through the USMPO. The USMPO does not get paid by the shipper. Once the funds are deposited into an escrow, the shipper is prequalified and made available to the most compatible carrier based on the GPS data of the USMPO.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall USMPO be liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of our services.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate our services to any user who violates our terms and conditions.
