Customer's Story

I was scheduled to have my move on 3/18/26

The evening of 3/18/26 I was called by a driver and said they had a “snafoo” and wouldn’t not be at my home on 3/18/26 and would be there the following day by 8am (they showed up at 10:30am )

They asked me several time if they would heaven to deliver to my new home in Mustang Oklahoma on the 23rd (1 day earlier ) then agreed in date and I said that’s fine, as long as it’s after 10am cause I had closing at 9am. The leader driver told me this while sorry about having a Dallas trip and then had to be I Kansas City asap and Oklahoma City is right between the 2.

I reached out to them on 3/24 to see when they where going to arrive and it took untill 3/26 for MoveKing and the original company I booked with Countrywide relocation to reply to my emails and they basically stated my stuff was still in storage and not scheduled for delivery and would give me a heads up when they knew something. I followed up with that replay wondering why it was in storage cause it was wrapped and loaded on the 19th and the lead driver said it was heading to Mustang Oklahoma and said nothing about it being unloaded and left somewhere. They reply from move king was that my delivery was scheduled to be delivered in 5 business days, fyi we have 21 days by law to schedule your delivery. So using there math 5 business days would have been the 2nd of April… I received no call or update and don’t have my goods yet. I sent emails, texts to countrywide relocation and moveking on weds 2nd and received an email back from move king stating “we will let you know when we have information” and also an email back from countrywide saying the same thing. As of 4/8/26 I have not received and follow up to delivery or where my goods are. Also not everytime you try to call them the number seems to be a Google number and is not accepting incoming calls

How to Avoid Similar Moving Scams

  • Always verify a mover's DOT number on the FMCSA SAFER system before signing any contract.
  • Get at least three written, binding estimates — avoid over-the-phone quotes.
  • Never pay a large deposit upfront. Reputable movers typically collect payment on delivery.
  • Read your Bill of Lading carefully before signing. This is your contract.
  • Document everything: photographs of items, written communications, receipts.
  • Be cautious of prices significantly below other quotes — this is a common bait-and-switch indicator.
