Common Types of Moving Fraud

What to Do If You've Been Scammed

  1. Document everything: Keep all contracts, estimates, bills of lading, emails, and text messages related to your move.
  2. File a complaint with USMPO: Use our complaint form to report the incident.
  3. Contact the FMCSA: File a complaint at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov or call 1-888-DOT-SAFT (1-888-368-7238).
  4. Contact your state Attorney General: File a consumer complaint with your state's AG office.
  5. Contact local law enforcement: If your goods have been stolen or held hostage, contact your local police department.
