A USMPO Verified Carrier is a moving company that has undergone a comprehensive audit by the U.S. Moving Protection Organization and has been approved for meeting our standards of pricing accuracy, customer service, safety compliance, and ethical business practices.
What Verification Means
When a carrier is “USMPO Verified,” it means they have successfully completed our multi-step verification process, which includes:
- Background Audit: Review of DOT registration, insurance status, and operating history
- Pricing Audit: Verification that published rates match actual charges to customers
- Complaint Review: Analysis of FMCSA, BBB, and consumer complaint data
- In-Person Interview: Discussion with company leadership about practices and commitment to ethics
- Rate Submission: Carriers submit their official rates for public transparency
- Code of Ethics Agreement: Commitment to uphold USMPO ethical standards
How to Identify Verified Carriers
In the USMPO Mover Directory, verified carriers are highlighted in green, making them easy to identify. Non-verified carriers with high complaint histories may be flagged in red as “Buyer Beware.”
What Verification Does NOT Mean
USMPO verification is not a guarantee of perfect service. While verified carriers have been audited and approved, consumers should still:
- Get multiple estimates from different carriers
- Read all contracts and documents carefully
- Report any issues to USMPO immediately
